November is just now starting, but already the chapter board is hard at work to find and bring you the best programs available. We have several excellent speakers we can look forward to in 2012, and more to come.
2012 Chapter Events
Just as the New Year’s celebrations fade, we will hear from Mary Ubrina of Clearly Write LLC. These days, the Internet makes all of us international companies, whether that was our original business goal or not, and we have to be able to manage communications for the international audience. Clearly Write does public relations for the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), which is making a growing effort to bring in international media, attendees and exhibitors alike, and Mary will discuss what her company is doing to draw in the international crowd and expand an event that already just about fills McCormick Place each year.
2012 Programs Include International PR, Association PR, LinkedIn Marketing and More
Our February meeting will be pushed back a week to February 21, because our regular meeting date falls on Valentine’s Day this year. Our speaker is still pending, but we will be sure to bring you the news as soon as we have it confirmed.
Groundhog paranoia aside, we optimistically predict that March will see a pleasant change in the seasons. Appropriately, we have a speaker joining us to discuss a different kind of change: How our favorite professional social networking service, LinkedIn, is adding new tools to its suite of networking capabilities. How best can we use them? Let Dee Reinhardt, Principal at Time2Mrkt, answer that question with her specialization in social media.
Going into April and beyond, we have more speakers lined up whose presentations are still being solidified. Don Lipton of the American Farm Bureau Federation is speaking in April, nationally known speaker Gini Dietrich of Arment Dietrich and the famous SpinSucks blog is May’s speaker, and Kevin Saghy of the Chicago Cubs will make guest appearances at our September meetings this coming year. We’re also making some calls and pulling some strings to put together a panel of media employees who can share what they like to hear from PR practitioners. And of course we’ll have a few of our famous PR After Hours meet-ups to cool us down.
November’s 2012 Anniversary Year-ending Celebration
We’ll wrap up the year with an unusual year-ending holiday party in November to celebrate the chapter’s 20th Anniversary, so be sure to save November 13th on your calendar. We won’t tell you about it yet – but it’s going to be the biggest thing we’ve done in a long, long while. Don’t you just love secrets?
We’re definitely excited about 2012. Are you looking forward to the new year? Know of someone you would really like to hear? Be sure to let us know!
