The Next Level of Leadership – PRSA Suburban Chicago Chapter Elections

As a member of the PRSA Suburban Chicago Chapter, do you think it is time to expand your horizons and become more involved?

Are you interested in developing your leadership skills? What about taking your career to the next level? Building your management skills? If you feel you have what it takes to lead a team of professionals, you should consider running for a chapter leadership position for the coming year.

PRSA ElectionsWith a leadership role, there will be endless opportunities at your feet. You have the chance to develop your leadership skills as a chapter officer or committee chair. Don’t think you’re too young for a leadership role, because these positions help you develop your management skills, as more established members are looking to pass on the skills they have learned over a lifetime of professional practice.

If you’ve ever sat in a chapter meeting, thinking, “Wouldn’t it be great if we could……” now is your chance to seize this opportunity.  Available positions include:

  • President
  • President-elect
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Assembly delegate (a three-year term)
  • Director (a three-year term)
  • Ethics chair

Responsibilities for the secretary and the treasurer last for one year, whereas the Assembly delegate, director, president-elect positions extend for three. The president-elect automatically becomes the president, and then subsequently immediate past president/elections committee chair, at the end of the year. Due to unusual circumstances, we have slots for both president and president-elect available for next year.

The following chair positions are also available, but don’t require election to the position:

  • Membership chair
  • Public relations/social media chair
  • Programming chair
  • Student relations chair
  • Diversity chair
  • Advocacy chair
  • District Liaison chair
  • Accreditation chair
  • Awards chair
  • Young Professionals Liaison  chair
