Round Robin Sports
DOC Wine Bar
Yorktown Center, Lombard
Robin Monsky, principal at Round Robin Sports, is a veteran public relations consultant who has worked directly with key outlets and major market influencers across all media platforms on both a national and global basis. Over her 30+ year career she has established a reputation as a publicist who is well informed, well connected, calm under fire, hard-working, creative and trustworthy.
Monsky has worked at six Super Bowls, five Chicago Marathons, four World Series, three Sundance Film Festivals, one Davis Cup Final, several regional NCAA basketball tournaments and the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta where she was Press Chief at Centennial Olympic Park. She most recently handled communications for her client, Fleet Feet Sports, which was forced to close for six months due to the Second City Fire August 26, 2015 that nearly destroyed the famed theater company’s home and surrounding businesses.
Since opening Round Robin Sports in 1996, Monsky’s clients have included marquee names ranging from ESPN, the Harlem Globetrotters, The Bank of America Chicago Marathon and Glaceau VitaminWater to niche customers like the Laureus Sport For Good Foundation, the BASSMasters Championship and the American Contract Bridge League. She has also served as an outside consultant to ad agencies and P.R. firms including Edelman, Kemper Lesnick and Ketchum. Early in her career, she worked in major league baseball for both the St. Louis Cardinals and then the Atlanta Braves. She was the first female public relations director to travel full time with a MLB team – and even has a World Series Ring of her own from the 1982 Cardinals.
Round Robin Sports (RRS) focuses on creating customized awareness campaigns for leading brands through sports and events. RRS is target specific in approach and seeks to work closely with the partner client to deliver the right message, at the right time, to the right audience, and in the right format across today’s diverse traditional and online media landscape.
Join us for an exciting evening of the fast-paced world of sports PR, and how it’s not really so different from what we do every day – even if we don’t get a ring with a gazillion diamonds on it.
